5 Reasons Why You Don’t Need A Guide

I may be writing a book called the “A Beginners Guide to a Spiritual Journey” but that doesn’t mean you need me as your guide. That is why the first part of the title is “Follow You”. I’ve just been out blazing some trails and accumulating resources. The real work is up to you. The real action steps are all yours. I wouldn’t have the slightest clue what is most meaningful for you. That is why you have to get to know yourself and decide what tools work for you- as you follow a path of self-realization.
Go blindly into yourself and have faith that you cannot get lost.
I’ve been told that people respond better to bullet points and “top 10” or “5 reasons why”, some quantifiable info in blog posts. And since I’m such a rule follower……haha….. here goes.
Your emotional guidance system is always with you and guiding you. If something feels bad, it may need to be repaired. You know you want to be experiencing the best feelings you can so this drives you to solve problems for yourself.
Relationships are sacred ground, this is where you are learning about yourself. Who is in your life and why are they there? Even if they piss you off, especially if they piss you off, ask yourself, what am I supposed to be learning from this person? Maybe if you learn the lesson, they will go away. Could you really even exist without the people around you interacting with you?
Guides only know one way, (guru’s say meditation is the best or yoga is the best or chanting is the best). A guide has usually spent many years studying and specialize whatever technique they teach. That’s great. Take a class, but don’t drink the Kool Aid just yet. There’s a lot more resources out there. There are many guides teaching the same material in different ways. It’s better to get many perspectives so you can see the differences (contrasting options) than hearing just one voice all the time.
Intuition, you have it for a reason. Listen to it. That flutter of feelings in your stomach or that thought that comes out of nowhere that screams take your extra set of keys and you don’t and then lock yourself out of your car. Admit it, it’s happened. Learn to listen. When I get something like that I stop what I am doing and try to calm my mind. I might list the important people in my life, husband, kids, mom and see if the feeling flares up when I think if one of them. That’s when I pay attention to how I feel and see if I can figure out what I need to know.
We are One. You are made in the image of Source Energy because you are Source Energy. If I were to replace Source Energy with the word God, how many of you would keep reading?? It’s a big concept, a tall order, but it’s also completely true. In the bible there is a passage that says “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me.” Matthew 25:40. In other words, we are all one. If we are one then we are made of the same thing. One Source Energy. With this energy you can create all things and be all things. Everything you need on this earth and in this lifetime is inside of you right now.
Go Blindly Into Yourself and Have Faith That You Cannot Get Lost.
It might feel like falling into the rabbit hole from Alice in Wonderland. It can be scary, strange, fun and fascinating. The journey to knowing yourself is all of those things and more. As we continue to talk about Energy, Intuition, Wellness and Faith, I hope that you will consider some of the options I share with you and start blazing your own trail.
Blessed Be!
